I would like to use stone as a tabletop, do I require table legs or a table base?

Stone and glass work surfaces are often fragile and must be supported as much as possible. We would only ever recommend a table base for this application. Table bases offer far greater strength and support compared to stand-alone table legs.

What size table base do I need?

The size of the table base is often determined by the intended seating plan. If chairs are to be seated under the two longest sides of the table only, the base should be as near to the full length of the table top as possible.

Example: table top length = 200 cm. Base length should be between 180/200 cm.

If chairs are to be seated under all four sides of the table, the base length should be reduced to allow chairs to be pushed under without interference.

Wood and stone work surfaces have different overhang capacities and the overhang limit will differ between the two materials. Generally speaking and depending on the thickness of the material, a maximum safe overhang for a stone surface would be 30 cm. With wood, this limit may be increased to circa 50 cm.

Example: table top length = 200 cm. Base length should be between 120/150 cm.

How do I care for my steel?

Caring for your steel is easy. Dust with a microfiber cloth on a daily basis. To remove unwanted dirt, rub with a damp cloth and dry immediately.

Would the steel rust over time if I left it bare/uncoated?

Yes. Uncoated steel would eventually show signs of oxidation. Rust is another name for iron oxide, which occurs when iron or an alloy that contains iron, like steel, is exposed to oxygen and moisture for a long period of time.

If you prefer the raw industrial style without progressive rust, you should choose the clear lacquer option. This will prolong the life of the steel whilst retaining the industrial look.

Alternatively, a powder-coated surface will be more resistant against oxidation, scratches, chipping, wear, and fading compared to other types of finishes.

Processing & Delivery

The estimated delivery date is based on your purchase date, the recipient's location, the seller's processing time and location, and the chosen courier. Other factors — like placing an order on a weekend or a bank holiday — may end up pushing the arrival of your item beyond the estimated delivery date.
It's our hope that your item gets where it's going as soon as possible, but given the factors involved, this is only an estimate.

Once my item(s) have been dispatched, how long does delivery take?

Delivery times are country-specific and may vary depending on the item.

Generally, UK deliveries are next-day. For Europe, 2-3 working days. For the rest of the world, please allow 3-7 working days.

In some cases, items could be delayed at the border for security checks. Providing necessary contact information may help avoid delays.
